Macau, <\/strong>2<\/strong> November 201<\/strong>9<\/strong> – <\/strong>The 10th<\/sup>MGM Macau Eco TrailHiker took place today\nat MGM COTAI. As it was the first large group hiking challenge held in Macau\nfor 10 consecutive years, the route went along different scenic natural trails\nin Coloane, exploring the greener side of Macau. The event attracted 2,600\nparticipants from a total of 650 teams competing for top honors in three race\ncategories: 10km Fun Course, 20km & 30km corporate challenge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 10km kickoff ceremony\nwas officiated by Mr. Robert J. Kirby and Mr. Kowie Geldenhuys, Directors of\nMacau TrailHiker Ltd. together with Mr. Wan Sucheng, Director of the\nDepartment of Publicity and Culture of the Liaison Office of the Central\nPeople\u2018s Government in the Macao S.A.R, Ms. Maria Helena de Senna Fernandes,\nDirector of Macao Government Tourism Office, Mr. Allen Lau Cho Un, Vice\nPresident of Sports Bureau of Macao S.A.R, Mr. Andrew Leong, Department Head of\nSocial Welfare Bureau of Macau S.A.R, Mr. Ho Ka Wui, representative of\nMunicipal Affairs Bureau, Mr. Grant Bowie, Chief Executive Officer and\nExecutive Director of MGM China Holdings Limited,\nand Mr. Frederico Ros\u00e1rio, Director and member of Executive Committee of TDM.\nThe ceremony was followed by a cheque presentation of a total of MOP 400,000 to The\nCradle of Hope Association and The Salvation Army – Hong Kong and Macau Command\nas a support for their operational expenses.  30 kids from the two beneficiaries participated\nin the event to cheer the runners on and join the warm-up, spreading the\nmessage of healthy living together in the community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Macau TrailHiker has been\nreceiving massive support from the community for over 10 years. It attracted\nsupport not only from the locals, but also participants across Mainland China,\nHong Kong, and overseas. All the winners of this year in each category broke the\nprevious records with the result as followed: The winners of 10 km team, \u7d05\u7e9610K\u968afinished\nthe course in 45 minutes 10seconds, followed by \u73e0\u6d77\u5361\u795e\u8ecd\u5718and Melco \u65b0\u6fe0\u5929\u5730\u8edf\u8db3\u5929\u5730\u4e00\u865f. For the 20km course, the champion was \u611b\u83ef\u8dd1\u6b65-20K, finishing in 1 hour and 34 minutes 09 seconds,\nand the 1st runner-up and the 2nd runner-up were RunPlus \u968a\u540d\u6211\u7121\u610f\u898b and Top Sport B respectively.  For the 30 km course, the champion was \u5f9e\u5929\u800c\u964dWest Face, finishing in 2 hours and 27 minutes 21\nseconds, and the 1st runner-up and the 2nd runner-up were  \u73e0\u6d77\u7b2c\u4e00\u8dd1\u5718\u4e4b\u70ba\u6240\u6b32\u70baand \u5c71\u7cfb\u5927\u53d4 Type R respectively. Furthermore, to encourage more female\nparticipation for this event, the organizer continued to have the award of\nFirst All-Female team for the three categories. The winners were \u8d8a\u8dd1\u8d8aFLY, Run 4 Price, \u7e7c\u7e8c\u4e94\u864erespectively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
